Hello and welcome to Plot is Optional, a podcast devoted to the love of smut. We read, talk about, and highlight our favorite parts of books and novelas. Our goal is to highlight how fun and wonderful these stories are and to encourage people to step outside of their comfort zone and read something fun and weird.

We welcome all genders, races, sexualities, and body types, and strive to read a diverse selection of books. We also will strive to have guests from many different backgrounds. Too often the world focuses only on books by white, cisgender men, and we hope to break out of that trend, especially because love is love.

As long as it’s fun and smutty, we love it.

Alli has been a retail worker, a wedding videographer, a personal support worker, a general odd jobs do-er, a preschool teacher, and a delightful unemployed slacker. For fun however, she has been a featured contributor on the Swampflix film blog and a regular co-host on their podcast. She loves reading smutty books, hanging out with her cats, and watching weird, artsy movies. Occasionally, she likes to sleep outside in the woods. Making her friends read and talk about these books with her is the dream.

Trey has wanted to be on a podcast for a long time and never thought he’d be reading romance novels. Now both are happening, and he is doing it of his own free will! Now that his interest is piqued, he’s on the hunt for large-bodied MM romance stories that are not just about being fat. He’s ready to psychoanalyze characters, delight in both the sexy and the cringeworthy, and plumb the depths of Alli’s erotica-corrupted mind.
